Un tempo nella prateria del grande sole stava un vegliardo che pregava il suo Signore. Un saio rozzo, piedi scalzi, barba bianca … Era felice di vivere così.
Un giorno venne alla sua tenda un cavaliere disse:. Il vecchio euforico accolse il grande dono, ma nei suoi occhi proprio non guardò.
Per quindici anni se ne stettero a pregare, con grande fede, senza bere né mangiare: solo il Signore li nutriva nel segreto … Era il Signore della prateria del sol.
Un giorno un cieco, sull’orlo di morire, venne a supplicare di poter guarire. Il cavaliere alzatosi all’istante diede la mano all’uomo, che guarì.
Il cavaliere, esaltato dall’impresa, pensò che il mondo poteva conquistare. Prese il cavallo, la lancia e l’armatura, disse al vegliardo:
Occhi di ghiaccio, faccia al vento e l’armatura, il cavaliere corre senza il suo Signore, giunge agli oscuri monti della luna, dove nessun uomo di metter piede osò …
Ora la terra è muta e spaventata, il re del nero impero ha visto il cavaliere … Ora un duello egli sta per affrontare, mentre al vegliardo non resta che pregare.
Spade di fuoco, lance frecce avvelenate, al cavaliere non rimane che gridare: Perdonatemi vi prego, riprendetemi tra voi!>
