Ciao amici,
Here is my version of the concert in Wiltz.
At first I thought Stefania had misunderstood me and had focused her sun-dance on Holland, because I left in the morning with fantastic sunshine. Then in Belgium the weather was grey and cloudy. But Steph cought up with us while we were nearing Luxembourg and it was really warm and sunny there. Thanks Stefania, I Hope we can use your skills yet another time :-)
We arrived in Wiltz about 17.00 and after we had checked in at the hotel we decided to go for a walk to see if we could find Angelo. Judging on the map the short-cut to the Castello would only be a 5 minute walk. But we had not anticipated that we would have to climb all the way, it was a footpath going up a mountain. When we arrived at the top, we could hear Angelo playing, so we knew he had not forgotten to go to this concert, but we could not get near him :-( .
A few hours later we went to the 17th century castello by car, much quicker and easier. The concert was in a open air theatre in front of the castello. We should not have worried about umbrella's, because there was a <shield> over the chairs. There was room for about 900 people. We had nearly the last tickets, so we were in the back, but still it was not so far from the stage, we could see everything very well.
On our way to our seats we passed a stall were they were selling champagne and we decided this was a very sophisticated way to drink to Angelo's health and a good concert.
Well, about the concert, there is not much more to tell than I did about Oostende and many other members about other concerts. It started with the Italian lady reciting the words of San Francisco. Angelo spoke in perfect French, explaining about the music. He sang two songs partly in French, Cogli la prima mela (va où le vent va?) and Pulce d'acqua (demoiselle). He got a bit confused with the two languages and could not remember the Italian words :-). Also he needed some assistance from the audience to translate Paludi in French. My highlights were again the very rythmic parts with the percussion and the beautiful Sposa Rubata, as Angelo explained, based on a story from an old and very thick book from Bretagne in France. The last song was a repetition of l'Infinitamente piccolo, this was new for me, because he had not repeated this in Oostende.
When the concert had ended, as always with a standing ovation, Mimi and I stayed behind for a while, waiting to see if we could find Angelo somewhere. We spoke to Davide, he seemed to recognize me, this is a nice feeling. I asked him to wave at me in Frankfurt and he promised to do so :-)
In the meantime Mimi suddenly saw Angelo disapprear into a very dark corridor in the castle, but we could not find him. After a while we decided to leave and go back to the car. We passed the Town Hall, there were lights on and there seemed to be a small party going on. We could easily go in there, nobody stopped us, and there we were suddenly on the side (not in the middle) of a small reception, Angelo and his musicians were there drinking and talking with some people, maybe people of the organization or other highplaced people. We stood there and watched, I secretely made some photo's and then Angelo was saying goodbye to the people and leaving. At that moment he was standing right in front of my camera and he was so kind to wait untill I had made the photo. Then Mimi and I shook his hand and thanked for a great concert, and then he walked out of the door like any normal man, not the artist, the dreammaker, the sorceror we had seen on the stage for two hours.
Mattias, you will be sorry that you had to study. Murielle, you will be sorry you had to work. We felt very happy and content, a fantastic concert and "a happy ending".
Only 4 more months ............

Ora,solo quattro mesi ancora....
