"Questo giorno tanto atteso,

"Questo giorno tanto atteso,
si prepara con rispetto.
Il teatro è già conteso
ma noi siamo dirimpetto.

Questo splendido gioiello,
così piccolo e carino,
aspetta gente di livello,
non lignaggio sì piccino.

Io l'avevo già capito
che non c'era da scherzare,
quando ci hanno minacciato:
"con i jeans dove andate?"

E comunque siamo entrati
grazie al nostro DISTINTIVO;
tutti intorno sistemati
e seduti lì vicino.

Ma di fianco a Virgilio,
si notava un tizio strano;
pare che non sia un idillio
il suo nome assai profano.

Il suo nome io l'ho udito,
pure Angelo l'ha scandito.
Se lui ha un sì brutto nome
figuriamoci stò calzone!

Quindi è vero non è un vezzo,
lui si chiama POMPONAZZO;
e se lui ha la prima fila,
io stò meglio, più di prima.

Viva viva l'appellativo,
lo ripeto e sento vivo:
Pomponazzo, gliene do atto,
tra le nostre fila è iscritto!!!"

"...The beautiful Bibiena Theater was a perfect backdrop to the exquisite music of the Scintille,instrumental pieces alternating with the songs sung by Angelo,that ranged from delicate to sad to joyous to tormented.As he himself said(among many other kind words),many of these songs were probably sung in a"normal"voice,not particularly falsetto,and that is how he sang them.
I know very little of acoustics but it seemed to me the tiny(300-seat)theater in wood provided the best sound environment for this sort of music;also it seems to me that the music was rendered very faithfully.The fact that Il Ballerino and Est-ce Mars made me want to dance,Tu Dormi,Io Veglio(and the sinfonia just after)made me want to cry,Quest'amore,Quest'arsura nearly made me faint,and Come Again took my breath away...all that seems normal to me.Also the fact that the next morning we all woke up with different musical pieces in our heads--finally to rediscover the joy in the music of this period,to kick out the stylized stuffiness...thank you Scintille,thank you Angelo!The"oomph"is back!!.."

"...Thank you everybody for being there. The many photo's that will appear on a special website will make it possible to relive these happy days for a long long time. In June Angelo will do the same concert again in Mantova, in open air, including some of his popular songs..."
